Settings overview

A guide to every section of Hive3 Settings, from your handle and security to wallets, notifications and your data.

Settings is where you look after your own account: how you sign in, your plan, your wallets and how Hive3 contacts you. Each section has its own page in this guide.

#Open Settings

Choose Settings in one of these places:

  • At the bottom of the sidebar.
  • In your account menu, at the top of the sidebar.
  • On your dashboard, in the Account Settings card.

The page is headed Settings, with the line "Your account, plan, wallets and preferences."

On a computer, the list of sections sits on the left and the open section on the right, starting with Account. On a phone, Settings opens as a list. Select a section to open it, then select All settings to come back to the list.

#Account

The Account section is the longest. From top to bottom it holds:

  • Handle. Your @handle is part of your profile link. Type a new one and select Save handle. Hive3 checks that it is available first. Changing it breaks links that use the old one, so update anywhere you have shared it.
  • Email. Shows your address and whether it is verified. If it is not, select Verify email.
  • Sign-in methods. The accounts you can use to sign in: Google, GitHub, X and Discord. A linked method shows Linked; an unlinked one has a Connect button. Apple and LinkedIn are marked as coming soon.
  • Security. Passkeys and 2-step verification. See Sign in and security.
  • Camera Liveness Check and Proof of human. See Liveness and proof of human.

#Subscriptions

The Subscriptions section has two cards.

  • Hive3 Membership shows your current plan and its status. Select Change plan to compare plans, or Manage billing in Stripe to update your card or cancel. If you are on Worker Bee, the card offers Start membership.
  • Community & People Subscriptions lists subscriptions you bought from creators and communities, with a Manage billing in Stripe button for each. If one has expired, the button reads Subscribe again.

Cancellations made in Stripe appear in this list within about a minute.

#Linked communities

Linked communities lists communities that are linked to your account through consent you gave earlier. Each entry shows when it was linked. Select Disconnect and confirm to end the link. The community can no longer manage your subscription or profile on your behalf, and you stay a member of it.

#Display & notifications

This section controls what you see and what you are sent.

  • Theme. Choose light, dark or system. System follows your device.
  • System notifications. A switch that turns Hive3 notifications on or off.
  • Community newsletters by email. A switch for emails from the communities you have joined. Communities can only email you when this is on and your email is verified. Each email also has a link to unsubscribe from that one community. See Email broadcasts.
