Content is how you publish something to read: an article, a guide, a report or a PDF. You write it in Hive3's editor or upload a document, add a banner and a short summary, and decide who can read it. The form has two steps.
Who can do this: any account on any plan, and the owner, admins and moderators of a community. Members-only and subscription content need a Honey Bee or higher plan. Content from a Worker Bee account is always public.
#Start new content
My HiveMy DashboardContentNew ContentOpen the dashboard of the account that should publish, then select New Content on the Content tab. For a community, open its dashboard first.
The form is titled Create New Content. A panel on the right shows your two steps, a preview card, Back and Next buttons and a Drafts menu. Your progress is saved automatically as a draft, and Cancel offers Discard draft, Keep editing and Save & exit.

#Write in the editor
The editor takes up to 3,000 words. Its toolbar covers:
| Tool | Options |
|---|---|
| Text | Paragraph, Heading 1 to Heading 3, Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Highlight, Inline code, subscript and superscript |
| Structure | Bullet list, Numbered list, Task list, Blockquote, Horizontal rule, Insert table |
| Layout | Align left, center, right and justify |
| Links and media | Add link, Upload image, Embed YouTube video |
| History | Undo and Redo |
Hive3 does not accept images pasted as raw data. Use Upload image so the file is stored with your content.
#Upload a document instead
Select Upload Document above the editor and choose a PDF or a Markdown file (.pdf, .md or .markdown). While it converts the button reads Converting....
- A Markdown file is converted to formatted text.
- A PDF is shown to readers in a PDF viewer on the content page.
The uploaded file appears in place of the editor with a Remove button. If you have already written text, Hive3 asks This will replace the existing description. Continue? before it swaps it out. Select Remove to go back to the editor.
#Content Access
This step is titled Content Access. It controls who can discover and read the content.
| Option | Who can read it |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone can view this content. |
| Members only | Only members or collaborators can view this content. |
| Subscription | An active subscription is required before viewing. |
For Subscription, connect Stripe in Monetize, then choose a plan under Select subscription. If you have no plan yet, Create subscription takes you to your payment settings. See Get paid. Worker Bee accounts see only Public.
#Publish
Select Create Content in the panel. Hive3 asks Ready to publish? and explains that it will create your content and take you to the published page. Choose Create Content to confirm, or Keep editing to go back. Hive3 then confirms with Content created successfully!
#After you publish
Your content appears on the Content tab of your dashboard.
- Edit reopens the form as Edit Content. The last button reads Update Content and the confirmation reads Ready to update?.
- View opens the public page.
- More actions offers Hide from profile, which removes the content from your public lists, Discover and search without deleting it, and a Notifications on or Notifications off switch.
- Delete removes it after you confirm.
You can hide content at any time. There is no waiting period, as there is for events and quests.
#Tips
- Put the most useful sentence in the short description. It is all most people see before they open the page.
- Break long articles up with headings, so readers can scan the page.
- Use Members only for material you want your community to have first, and Subscription for material you want to charge for.
- Link to your related events, courses and quests inside the article to send readers onward.
