A course is a series of lessons you can take at your own pace, with progress tracked for you. Some courses also run office hours, and some award a credential when you finish.
Any account can take courses, including Worker Bee. Some courses ask you to subscribe to the creator or buy a ticket first.
#Find a course
Select Courses in the sidebar. Type in Search courses... or use the filter menu: All courses, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. A Featured Courses row highlights courses picked by Hive3. Courses you are enrolled in also appear under My HiveCourses.
#Enroll
Open a course. The page shows its title, creator, number of lessons and level, then the description and, on a computer, the list of lessons on the right.
Select the enroll button
The label tells you how enrollment works:
- Enroll Now enrolls you immediately.
- Apply to Enroll sends an application. The button becomes Application Pending, with a Cancel Application option, until the creator decides.
Confirm you are in
Once you are enrolled, the button reads Enrolled and a Course Progress bar appears. You are notified when you enroll, and again when a creator accepts or declines an application.
Until you are enrolled, the lessons list shows Enroll to Access Lessons.
If the course needs a ticket or a subscription, an Access Required panel with Buy Ticket and Subscribe replaces the enroll button. Pay first, see a You have access badge, then enroll. See Tickets and subscriptions.
#Leave a course
Point at Enrolled: it turns into Quit Course. Select it and confirm. Hive3 warns Your course progress will be lost if not completed.
#Work through the lessons
Open a lesson
Select Open next to a lesson. Each row shows the lesson number, and a green check once you have completed it.
Read the overview
The first screen, Overview, introduces the lesson. Select Begin Lesson to start.
Move through the sections
Lessons are split into sections: text, video and documents. A Section 1 of 4 style label shows where you are, and the Sections list jumps to any section. Select the Next button, which names the next section, or Previous to go back.
Complete the lesson
On the last section the button reads Complete Lesson. A Congrats! window offers Next Lesson and Back to Course.
Text sections have controls to make the text smaller or larger and to enter fullscreen. Video sections play inside the page, and PDF sections open in a built-in viewer. After you complete a lesson, Great Job! appears with Restart, Back to Course Overview and Next Lesson.
#Join office hours
Some courses list Office Hours: scheduled sessions where the creator is available. The card shows whether they are virtual or in a 3D world, the days, the hours and the time zone.
While a session is live, Enter office hours appears. For a virtual session it opens the creator's link in a new tab. For a 3D-world session it opens the world's entry page (see Attend events). You must be enrolled and accepted in the course to enter a world session. If the link is not ready, the button reads Link not yet available.
#Earn the credential
If the creator attached a credential, a Credential card on the course page shows it. When you complete the final lesson, the Congrats! window offers Claim Credential, and you are notified that you completed the course.
You can claim later from NotificationsClaim Credentials. Claiming asks you to use a wallet; see Your credentials.
