Communities can charge for access in two ways. A ticket is a one-time payment that unlocks one event, course or quest. A subscription is a recurring payment that unlocks what a community has marked as paid. You do not need a paid Hive3 plan to buy either.
This page covers what you buy from other people. Your own Hive3 plan (Worker Bee, Honey Bee, Swarm or Royal Hive) is separate; see Plans and pricing.
#Spot paid access
When an event, course, quest or piece of content needs payment, you see an Access Required panel instead of the usual button. It reads one of:
- "Subscribe to (name) or buy a one-time ticket to RSVP to this event" when both are offered.
- "Subscribe to (name) to enroll in this course" when only a subscription is offered.
- "Buy a one-time ticket to apply for entry to this event" when only a ticket is offered.
Once you have paid, a You have access badge appears and the normal button returns: RSVP, enroll or begin.
#Buy a ticket
Open the event, course or quest
The panel shows Ticket price with the amount and currency.
Select Buy Ticket
A Buy Ticket window opens: "Purchase ticket access for this event."
Choose how to pay
If the seller accepts both, you see Pay with Stripe and a PayPal button separated by "or". Stripe opens a secure Stripe checkout page. For PayPal, approve the payment in the PayPal window. You see the option the seller has set up; some sellers offer only one.
Return to Hive3
After a Stripe payment you land on a Payment successful page: "Your purchase is active and available now." Select Go to your account or Back to Home, then open the event, course or quest again. If you paid with PayPal you stay on the page and a toast confirms Ticket purchased. Access granted.
If the page says Activation is still processing, select Retry activation. Access can take up to a minute to appear. If you cancel on the Stripe page, you land on Subscription Cancelled with "No charges have been made to your account." Go back to the item and try again.
If a seller has not finished setting up payments, the panel says Ticket is not purchasable yet: the seller has not connected Stripe or PayPal. Tell the organizer, or come back later.
#Subscribe to a community
There are three places to subscribe:
- The Subscribe button on a paid community's page.
- A plan under the Offerings tab, on the card's Subscribe button.
- The Subscribe to (name) button in an Access Required panel.
Pick a plan
Each plan shows its name, price and whether it bills monthly or yearly.
Review the Subscribe window
The Subscribe window repeats the plan and price: "Complete your Stripe subscription to access exclusive content."
Select Subscribe with Stripe
Pay on the Stripe page. Stripe bills the subscription automatically each period.
On a private community, you apply and get approved first, then subscribe. See Discover and join communities.
If you already hold the plan, the window says You already subscribe to this plan. If you hold a different plan from the same creator, it asks you to manage that subscription from your settings first. A creator who has not enabled Stripe shows This creator has not enabled Stripe subscriptions.
#Manage what you have bought
SettingsSubscriptionsThe page has two cards.
Hive3 Membership shows your plan and its status. Change plan opens the plans page and Manage billing in Stripe opens Stripe for a plan billed through Stripe. Start membership appears when there is no such plan to manage, for example on Worker Bee.
Community & People Subscriptions lists each subscription you hold, with the creator, the plan, the price and a status:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active · renews (date) | Billing continues. |
| Pending cancellation · ends (date) | You cancelled. Access continues until that date. |
| Canceled or Expired | The subscription has ended. |
Use Manage billing in Stripe to update your payment method or cancel. Cancellations made in Stripe show up here within a minute. For an expired subscription, Subscribe again takes you back to the creator.
Subscriptions bought earlier with PayPal show PayPal recurring billing has been discontinued. Access remains until (date). Select Switch to Stripe to continue with Stripe.
#Review your tickets
NotificationsMy TicketsThe list shows every ticket you bought, with the item it unlocks, the date, the price paid and any refund status. Select a ticket to open the event, course or quest.
#Refunds
Hive3 lets you ask for a refund on a ticket. The community that sold it decides.
Open My Tickets
Go to NotificationsMy Tickets.
Request the refund
On an active ticket, select Ticket actions (three dots), then Request refund. A toast confirms Refund request submitted to the community.
Wait for the decision
The ticket shows Refund pending. You can have one pending request per ticket.
You are notified when the community decides, even if you have turned notifications off:
- Approved: the payment is refunded to the way you paid (Stripe or PayPal), the ticket shows Refunded, and the access it gave you ends.
- Rejected: the ticket shows Refund rejected and keeps working. The notification can include a note from the community.
Hive3 does not set a refund window or amount. Each community decides on its own requests.
