Hive3 has four plans. Worker Bee is free and covers joining, learning and publishing. The paid plans add private and paid access, community management tools and monthly allowances for quests and 3D worlds.

Prices are in US dollars. Honey Bee is $75 a month, Swarm is $250 a month and Royal Hive is $550 a month.

#Reading the table

  • Which account the plan belongs to. A plan belongs to an account, not to the person signed in. Paid features follow the plan of the account that owns the content. If you manage a Swarm community from a Worker Bee login, the community's tools use the community's plan. See What is Hive3.
  • Creating is free. Every plan can create events, courses, content, jobs, quests, add-ons and live streams. Each quest needs a quest credit, which Worker Bee and Honey Bee buy as they go.
  • Direct messages. Only paid accounts can start a new direct message. A Worker Bee account can still reply to conversations that already exist.
  • Email broadcasts. The cadence is how long you wait between broadcasts. See Email broadcasts.
  • 3D worlds. Honey Bee and Swarm book events in shared worlds, which hold up to 500 people. Royal Hive books its own dedicated world instead, which holds up to 100 people and has no time limit.
  • Coming soon. Community analytics, advanced analytics, priority support and white label options are advertised for the higher plans but are not available in the product yet.

#Upgrade your plan

You can upgrade from any plan at any time.

  1. Open Subscriptions

Go to SettingsSubscriptions. The Hive3 Membership card shows your current plan.

  2. Choose a plan

Select Change plan (or Start membership if you are on Worker Bee). On Choose Your Plan, select the plan you want. The button at the bottom reads Upgrade to followed by the plan name.

  3. Review the checkout summary

The Upgrade to window shows the price per month. Open Have a promo code? to apply a code. If you were invited, Have a referral code? appears too.

  4. Continue with Stripe

Select Continue with Stripe and enter your payment details on the Stripe page. When payment completes you return to Hive3 and the new plan is active.

Choose Your Plan.
The upgrade window.

You can also compare plans before you sign in at app.hive3.tech/pricing. Signed out, the button reads Get Started Free for Worker Bee, or Sign in to buy followed by the plan name.

#How billing works

  • Memberships renew monthly until you cancel. Checkout tells you this before you pay.
  • SettingsSubscriptions shows your status, for example Active · renews with a date.
  • Select Manage billing in Stripe to update your payment method, see invoices or cancel.
  • You can switch plans from the same page with Change plan.
Settings, Subscriptions.

#Move up to a higher plan

An upgrade takes effect immediately. Stripe works out the difference for the rest of the billing period and invoices it. If the payment is declined, your plan does not change.

#Move down to a lower plan

A change to a lower paid plan starts at the end of the current billing period. You keep your current plan until then, with no charge today. You can see the date in the window before you confirm.

#Cancel

Cancelling stops renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, shown as Pending cancellation · ends with a date. After that the account returns to Worker Bee.

#What happens to your content

Moving to Worker Bee does not delete what you published. Existing items keep the access they already have, and you can still edit other details. You can no longer turn on private, members-only or paid access for new settings, and the paid tools in the table above stop working until you upgrade again.

#Promo codes and trials

Enter a code under Have a promo code? before you continue to Stripe. Depending on the code, you may get:

  • a free trial of 30, 60 or 90 days. Stripe asks for payment details now and the monthly price starts automatically when the trial ends.
  • 20% off for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
  • 50% off the first month.

The checkout summary updates to show what you will pay and when the regular price returns. Some codes are tied to one plan; if you see Code not valid for this tier, choose the plan the code was issued for. Promo codes apply when you start a membership, not when you switch between paid plans.

A referral code can be applied before your first paid membership. See Referrals.

#Buy more when you need it

Two things can be bought separately from your plan. Both are one-time charges, not subscriptions. The price is always shown at checkout before you pay.

#Quest credits

Each quest uses one quest credit when you publish it. Credits come in two lengths, which set how long the quest can run.

PackYou getQuest lengthListed price
Quest Single1 quest creditUp to 7 days$250
Quest Bundle4 quest creditsUp to 30 days$500

Swarm includes one 7-day and one 30-day credit each month. Royal Hive includes two of each. Included credits are used before purchased ones and expire at the end of the month.

  1. Open your dashboard

    Go to My HiveMy Dashboard.

  2. Buy credits

In the Quest credits panel, select Buy credits. You can also reach it when you select New Quest on the Quests tab without credits.

  3. Choose a pack

In Buy Quest Credits, check your current balance, choose Quest Single or Quest Bundle, and pay.

Only people who manage the account see the buy button. See Create a quest.

#Metaverse time

Events in a shared 3D world use metaverse time. Time comes in one-hour packs that expire 30 days after purchase.

PackYou getListed price
1 Hour60 minutes$250

Swarm includes one hour a month that does not roll over. Royal Hive does not need time packs for its own world.

  1. Open a time purchase

Select Buy time in the Metaverse time panel on your dashboard or on your account's Worlds page. When scheduling an event that needs more time than you have, select Top up.

  2. Pay for the pack

In Top up metaverse time, check your current balance and select the 1 Hour pack. When you open it from an event that needs more time than you have, Hive3 also offers a recommended purchase sized to the time you are short. Complete payment on the Stripe page.

#Plans versus what communities sell

Your Hive3 plan is separate from subscriptions and tickets that communities sell to their members. Those prices are set by each community, and you manage the ones you bought under SettingsSubscriptions in Community & People Subscriptions. See Tickets and subscriptions and Get paid.
